Four FireEye researchers have found a way to steal fingerprints from Android phones packing biometric censors. For example the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One Max.

The team found that your prints are stored unprotected in a file under the name of "<em>dbgraw.bmp</em>"

That's pretty fucking stupid.
If that's not changed, I can see hackers taking advantage of it pretty soon.

How do they get the print in the first place? Is it an app? Does your phone automatically take a picture of your fingerprint with a file every time that you touch the screen? Is there some kind of fine print disclaimer? No matter what, this seems to be a problem.

Of course they are. This is no surprise. There's no privacy at all and they want to keep track of everybody's information. Wish people would wake up and actually do something about it though. It takes more than one person.

This is what scares me about all the new fingerprint technology. Previously hackers could steal your passwords....now they can steal your fingerprints.
