Which is the easy to use image editor for small graphic works?

My daily OS is ubuntu Linux.. So I cannot depend on photoshop as it will not work with Linux.
I know GIMP as alternative.. but its too complex for me.
Recently I started using Pinta... which is very similar to Paint.NET..
Its simple to use.. It has lots of bugs and I experienced lots of crash.. Hope the developers will solve it soon.

Why not just run a Windows VM in linux to then run photoshop?

Just stick to Gimp if you cant use Photoshop. Once you figure out how to use it you wont even think about using Pinta or anything else.
