A good one is to find forums related to your site, and make non spam post while also trying to include your sites link, in it.
For example Your blog, I'd check out some fifa forums and try to see if you could find a way to get you link in some of your post.
Also Twitter and Facebook can help bring some good traffic.
I'd stay away from backlink Blasters.

Commenting on other websites with your name linking to your website is also a good tip that works well with search engines.

Social media is a gold mine when it comes to bringing traffic on you site/blog. Try to promote it on FB/Twitter/IG, etc.
For WordPress, use Yoast or "All in One" seo plugins. They're really helpful and teach you a few tricks.
Write good and in-trend content with a focus on keywords (but don't overdo it) and share on social media. Also, one aspect we often overlook is the seo for images. Use proper alt text, captions and seo focused naming for your images. Google Images can get you a decent amount of traffic too.
I'm currently doing SEO for my own forums but to be honest I am no expert so It would be nice to see what everyone else is doing.

Posting on other blogs and forums related to my niche is a great way to work on my SEO and I have found that it's worked great for mine in terms of getting hits but also gaining new members. I personally wouldn't spam with your link in your signature as that can give your site a bad name but it also will not last in terms of a backlink because it will more than likely be deleted by the admin, it's always better to go legit so they stick and help you in the long run.
